HMEA believes that strong families create an environment where children and adults with autism and other disabilities can reach their best potential. HMEA’s Family Supports are designed to support caregivers as they care for their child at home.
HMEA helps families integrate the resources they need to care for their family member at home. Specialized case management helps families coordinate medical services, health care benefits, assistive technology, home nursing, educational services, home modifications and public benefits.
Our dedicated staff understands exactly what caregivers experience. That’s because many on our staff have family members who have Autism or other disabilities.
Our Family Supports are small intensive programs that provide support at home, in school or in the community.
Referrals are made by the local Department of Developmental Services (DDS) office for the following areas: Newton/South Norfolk, Greater Boston, Charles River West, Middlesex West, North Central, South Valley and Worcester.
