Click the video to take a virtual tour of HMEA’s ABA Clinic.
When children with autism receive Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services, they benefit from more intensive instruction, peer interactions, and opportunities to build social skills. The HMEA ABA Clinic provides children and their families with the opportunity to receive center-based ABA services in a safe and friendly environment with other children.
Treatment Sessions
We offer three main types of treatment sessions for children:
- Individual 1-to-1 – a Behavior Therapist works exclusively with your child in a dedicated activity area
- Individual Group – a group session in which each child has an assigned Behavior Therapist assisting them
- Social Skills Groups – one or two staff members assist in a group session with up to eight children. These sessions feature highly structured and approved social skills curriculum
Treatment sessions typically last for two hours, but your child may have the opportunity to participate in several different sessions in one day. Our team of experienced Board-Certified Behavior Analysts oversees each session and will tailor them to fit your child’s needs.
Resources for Parents
You will have access to a real-time electronic system that shows your child’s treatment plan and tracks their progress. We also offer parent training sessions to help you continue to carry out your child’s treatment plan at home. These can be one-to-one or group sessions covering a wide range of topics, including:
- Self-help skills
- Feeding
- Toilet training
- Behavior reinforcement
Cost and Insurance
Many ABA services are covered under your existing family health insurance plan as “medically necessary therapy” and are provided at very little or no cost to you. When you contact us for services, HMEA staff will check your insurance eligibility, handle billing directly with your insurance company, and assist with any other coordination in the authorization process.
