HMEA provides high-quality, individualized, and intensive support services to children and young adults who have been diagnosed primarily with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). HMEA’s services and supports also help those diagnosed with developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges.
By offering a range of children’s services, we support an individual from the first few months of life to young adulthood.
We partner with families, early intervention centers, and school systems. Together, we develop and improve the child’s skill set and reduce the maladaptive behaviors that interfere with his or her learning.
The Gold Standard: Applied Behavior Analysis
Our Children’s Services employ the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), proven to teach skills that children need to live as independently as possible. ABA Services are provided by Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) who are licensed practitioners. They oversee a team of skilled paraprofessional Behavior Therapists.
Some of ABA’s tools and strategies include positive reinforcement, discrete trial training, incidental teaching, task analysis, and shaping. We tailor our services to each child’s needs.
