Whole Foods Market Bellingham is supporting HMEA for the month January by accepting donations at their registers.
Additionally, they have invited HMEA to set up a table in front of their store Friday January 23rd, Saturday January 24th and Sunday January 25th to provide information about HMEA’s services for community education.

HMEA’s Darnell School recently received a donation from The Avidia Charitable Foundation for $1,500.

The Darnell School is a specialized school for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder located in Hudson Massachusetts.
Studio Two – Beatles Tribute Band will be playing a special benefit concert live on January 24th, 2015 at Finnegan’s Wake in Walpole MA with proceeds supporting HMEA.
Studio Two is a Beatles Tribute that will take you back to the early 60’s when The Beatles were taking the world by storm.
Studio Two is a Beatles cover band that pays tribute to the early Beatles years, choosing songs from the pre-Sgt. Pepper era. These four lads met in a “cellar full of noise” in a town west of Liverpool, in Milford, New Hampshire. By recreating the Fab Four’s music, instruments, and onstage banter, Studio Two performs your most favorite hits that will bring people to the dance floor.
Doors open at 8 pm. Refreshments, door prizes and raffle prizes will be available. Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased in advance by calling Phil at 781-218-4170 or by emailing Marie at email@example.com.

HMEA and Garelick Farms of Franklin have joined forces for HMEA’s Annual Coat Drive. Donations of gently used, clean coats, sweatshirts, hats, gloves/mittens, boots and scarves are being accepted thru December 12th, 2014.
Donations will benefit individuals with developmental disabilities supported by HMEA, Straight Ahead Ministries, Worcester Fellowship and other local charities.
You can drop off your donation items to the Franklin office or to the Millbury, Sterling or Plainville program centers.

On Monday October 20th 2104, Senator Richard Moore (D-Uxbridge) was presented the Senator of the Year Award by ADDP (Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers) at the Kennedy Donovan Center in Milford MA.
HMEA’s Vice President of Development & Public Relations, Doug MacPherson, joined fellow provider agencies in honoring Sen. Richard Moore for his award.
Sen. Richard Moore has been a forerunner in advocating and campaigning for health care matters for individuals with disabilities living in Massachusetts. Much of the success for the funding of programs and services for individuals with disabilities is due to his devoted work.
Kevin Conare of the Kennedy-Donovan Center along with Gary Blumenthal from ADDP presented the Senator of the Year Award to Sen. Richard Moore.
HMEA is proud to be co-sponsoring the upcoming Assistive Technology Conference of New England, to take place on Thursday November 20th, 2014 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick RI.
The conference is hosted by TechACCESS of RI, a Warwick RI-based program of HMEA, providing technology services to people with disabilities
As stated on the official website, “This conference is dedicated to technology, people with disabilities, families and professionals.”
This annual conference was established over 20 years ago to feature workshops, information and exhibits, all concentrated on emerging technologies that empower individuals with disabilities.
Hundreds of citizens from RI and the North East attend the conference to learn and collaborate on the uses of technology in education, communication, employment, recreation, home and independent living. This year’s 2014 conference offers 21 workshops all presented by AT experts from across the U.S.
One of the conference’s major highlights includes: Tablet Playground – an opportunity for attendees to see, use, explore and ask questions about the latest tablets and apps.
HMEA’s for-profit arm, Cloud4Causes, a provider of cost-effective IT services will be exhibiting at the event.
